Death

In the marketplace of Baghdad, a man is jostled by Death.
Frightened, the man gets on a horse, and flees at top speed to Samarra, a distance of about 75 miles (125 km).
He believes he has outran and outwitted Death.
However by now, he and his horse are both dangerously dehydrated and thus the man frantically starts searching for water.
He finds a well, but to his utter shock, Death is standing in front of it.
He confronts Death and says “I saw you looking at me in Baghdad and I’ve been riding nonstop to get away from you. And it surprises me that despite all my efforts, you have found me here in Samarra.”
Death replies, “I was astonished too to see you in Baghdad, because all along our meeting was scheduled for Samarra.”
